Description
In order to fit the RECRUIT top, the stock sport cage must be cut so we developed this weld-in kit to complete the cage and tie it back into the body while taking up minimal interior room.
The tubes are 2" OD .120-wall DOM tubing and the floor brackets are made of 3/16" cold-rolled steel that bolt into existing holes in the tub. The brackets are designed to work with our speaker pod option on the bulkhead while providing the most space possible behind the rear seats. The wheelwell bracket requires drilling one additional hole in the upright portion of the fender well for additional strength.
After installation of this kit, there is some minor reworking of the factory roll bar padding and foam as the new bars have a different shape.
Kit includes 2 pre-bent upright tubing pieces that sleeve into the factory tubing directly over the rear doors. 2 floor/wheel well brackets, and a upper and lower spreader bar. The mid spreader bar is straight but the upper spreader bar does have a bend to the rear for overhead clearance. The floor brackets include a threaded insert to directly mount the seat belt retractor onto the bracket. The upright tubing pieces have welded bungs to reinstall your factory seat belts.
The kit is a weld in kit and we highly recommend a certified welder to weld these pieces together.
This kit requires cutting the factory sport cage. When altering the factory sport cage, you are altering the original safety characteristics of the vehicle. Owner assumes all risks associated with altering the vehicle in order to install this kit.
